David Walters: Exquisite Fabrics for Luxury Home Interiors

Inside our Proposte collection Workshops – Where creative design meets commerciality

Design Workshops for Proposte 2026 collection

At David Walters Fabrics, every new collection begins with a collaborative and considered design process, one that balances inspiration, heritage, and innovation.

A key part of this is our in-house design workshops, where ideas are explored, challenged, and brought to life.

When we begin developing a new collection, our design team immerses itself in research. This includes studying existing trends, analysing market direction, and drawing from our extensive archive of fabrics and patterns.

This foundation ensures that each collection remains relevant while staying true to the character and expertise that define David Walters.

Alongside this research-led approach, we place great importance on creating space for completely new ideas. During our design workshops, the team quite literally goes back to the drawing board. Painting, sketching, and experimenting with crayons and mixed media, are used to develop original concepts from scratch.

With a clear design brief, these sessions allow creativity to flow freely, resulting in designs that are expressive and unique.

These workshops are an opportunity to step away from the constraints of existing patterns and explore fresh directions. They often lead to unexpected and exciting outcomes, and it’s here that some of our most distinctive designs originate.

Once a range of new concepts has been developed, our sales team joins the process. Working closely with the designers, they review each design through a commercial lens, considering customer preferences, market demand, and application. This collaborative review ensures that the final selection not only reflects creative excellence but also delivers strong commercial value.

The result is a carefully curated collection that blends originality with market insight, designs that inspire, but also perform.

Our design workshops are a vital part of what makes David Walters Fabrics unique. They enable a seamless integration of creativity, experience, and customer understanding.

Some of these designs will form part of the new 2026 collection, which we will be launching at Proposte, Como.
